The Krueger’s
What started as a cold and rainy June day on the lake shore turned into one of those days that felt incredibly special in all the ways that really mattered. With 270 guests, a private property backyard celebration, changing weather, and so many moving pieces, there was plenty to navigate, but through it all, Grace and Jared remained grounded in their faith and focused on what the day was really about, becoming husband and wife surrounded by the people they love.
From the beginning of the day, we knew the weather was going to be something we had to work around. It was a colder June day, and the rain just kept coming. As the ceremony time got closer, we decided to delay it and watch for a break in the rain. During that time, there was a lot happening behind the scenes. We kept guests updated, moved people into a covered area, adjusted the timeline, and worked quickly to get the ceremony space ready when we finally had a small break in the rain. Seats were wiped down, details were moved back into place, and everyone jumped in to make it happen.
And through all of it, Grace and Jared were so calm. They were simply focused on getting married, surrounded by the people they love. That was especially evident during their ceremony. Grace and Jared chose not to do a first look, so they saw each other for the first time that day as Grace walked down the aisle. After waiting through the rain and all of the uncertainty leading up to that moment, there was something incredibly special about watching them finally see each other.
Their ceremony also included communion and a foot washing ceremony, which made it feel deeply personal and intentional. They were meaningful parts of the commitment Grace and Jared were making to each other and a reflection of the kind of marriage they want to build together. Their faith wasn't just something that showed up during the ceremony. It was woven into the entire day and into the way they loved, served, and cared for the people around them.
Their vendor team also deserves so much credit. With the weather constantly changing and a wedding this large, there were a lot of opportunities for things to feel chaotic. Instead, everyone communicated, helped where they were needed, and worked together to keep things moving. There is something so special about working with vendors who care about the couple just as much as you do and who are willing to do whatever it takes to make the day a good experience for them.
At the perfect time, the clouds started to clear, and they were able to sneak away for some sunset photos. After spending so much of the day watching the weather, it felt almost surreal to suddenly have this beautiful stretch of light. It was a pretty incredible way to end a day that had started with so much uncertainty.
Grace and Jared's wedding was a reminder that a beautiful wedding day doesn't have to mean everything goes according to plan. Sometimes it's about trusting the people around you, staying grounded in what actually matters, and remembering why you're there in the first place. Grace and Jared did that so naturally. They trusted, they loved, they served, and they kept their focus on each other and on God.
It was such an honor to be there for it all, and I am so thankful I got to watch their story unfold the way it did. It may have been a rainy and chilly June day, but by the end of it, I don't think anyone would have wanted it any other way.
